We do not work from a booking portal. Our list is short because it is first-hand, and it changes when a camp changes hands, loses its head guide, or stops being worth the money.
How a camp gets on the list

- Every property on our list has been stayed in by someone on this team, in the season we would send you. Not toured. Stayed in.
- The kitchen was asked directly
- Not 'can you do vegetarian' — but whether there is separate preparation, whether onion and garlic can be omitted, and who cooks when the head chef is off.
- The guiding is the point
- A beautiful tent with an indifferent guide is a wasted week. We ask about guide retention before we ask about thread count.
- It works for the whole family
- Interconnecting tents, a pool that is genuinely safe, and staff who are pleased rather than merely tolerant when children arrive.
