That means walking the routes ourselves, eating in the camps, and saying no to anything that photographs better than it hosts — so that when we place your family somewhere, we already know what it feels like at six in the morning.
The difference in practice
Four things a booking portal cannot do.
- We plan from experience, not inventory
- Most itineraries are assembled from a booking system. Ours start from seasons spent on the ground, which is why we can tell you a camp is superb in June and mediocre in November.
- We will talk you out of things
- Too many countries in ten days. A crossing three weeks past its peak. A lodge that photographs better than it hosts. If it will not work, we say so before you pay, not after.
- The food question is settled in writing
- Vegetarian, Jain and halal requirements are confirmed with each chef by name before you travel — not flagged as a note on a booking that nobody reads.
- One desk, start to finish
- Visas, flights, transfers, camps, and the number you call at two in the morning are all held by the same people. Nothing is handed to a third party once you have paid.
